At its foundation, what we believe at Revival Baptist Church is based on the Word of God.

What We Believe About the Bible

What we believe about the Bible, as the Word of God, affects every aspect of our church and its practice. The Bible is God’s only method of communication with us today. We believe that God gave the Bible by revelation and inspiration.

Revelation of the plan of God for redeeming mankind of sin is necessary for salvation. The Bible is our source of knowledge regarding mankind’s sin and the salvation by Christ’s sufficient sacrifice. (Hebrews 1:1-3, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

We believe God gave the Bible by inspiration to us through the men that penned it. Inspiration means “God-breathed” and we believe that God used men to pen His Word for mankind. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21) God preserves His Word, which He gave by revelation and inspiration, for us today. (Matthew 5:18, John 10:35)

We believe that the Bible is infallible (without error, Psalm 146:6) and inerrant (accurate in its recording, Psalm 119:89). It contains the only way of salvation for all of mankind.

We believe that the King James Version of the Bible is the Bible we will use in all functions of our church.

About God

At Revival Baptist Church, we believe that there is one God who exists in three distinct persons, namely God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All are coequal in power, majesty, and their position as God. (Psalm 16:10, Matthew 3:16-17)

Firstly, God the Father sent God the Son to earth to die for all of mankind. Secondly, God the Son sent God the Holy Spirit to work in the world both through conviction of sin and comforting of the believers.

We believe God is Personal and is Eternal (Genesis 1:1), also Immutable (Malachi 3:6), and Omnipresent (Psalm 139:7-10), also Omniscient (Colossians 2:3), and Omnipotent (Matthew 19:26), also Sovereign (Exodus 8:22), and Holy (Isaiah 6:3). In addition, God is Love (1 John 4:19); He is Perfect (1 Peter 1:16); God is Just (Zephaniah 3:5); He is Righteous (Psalm 145:17); God is Merciful (Psalm 103:8); and God is Gracious (Ephesians 2:8-10). Additionally, We believe God sustains us by His Power just as He created us by His Power (Jeremiah 29:11, Acts 15:18).

What We Believe About Salvation

At Revival Baptist Church, we believe that we are all lost in sin because of the choices of both Adam and Eve and because of our own choice to go astray. (Isaiah 53:6) As such, we are not able to do anything ourselves to make an atonement for our sin.

As a result of God’s Foreknowledge of what we would do with the Free Will that He gave us, God sent His Son to die on the cross for us. (John 3:16) Christ’s sacrifice, by His Death, forever removed the stain of Sin from all mankind. Additionally, He rose again the third day to give us life forever with Him in Heaven.

By His Sacrifice and only through trusting in the completed work of Christ for each of our sins can we receive the forgiveness that He offers. (Romans 6:23)

About the Church

Firstly, we believe that the Church is the local called-out assembly that God ordained to be the instrument of completing the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19-20) Consequently, we are commanded by God to make disciples of all people.

We believe the Church is to preach the word, worship the Lord through praises and offerings, and to make disciples. Additionally, we believe that the Church is a harbor for lost souls to come to Christ and a place of help for the believer.

What We Believe About the Future

At Revival Baptist Church, we believe that Jesus is coming again to earth. Firstly, He is coming to receive His Bride to Himself in the air. (John 14:2-3, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) Secondly, there will be a time of punishment on the earth known as the Tribulation. Finally, Christ will return to earth to reign at the end of this seven year period. (Zechariah 14:4, Revelation 19:11-21)

We believe Christ will reign for a thousand literal years on earth. (Revelation 20:4, 9) Secondly, at the end of this Millennial Reign, Christ will win the final victory. (see Revelation 20:7-15) Finally, the saved will spend eternity in a new heaven and a new earth. (see Revelation 21:1-3) The unsaved will go into eternal punishment in the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:12-15)

About Being a Baptist

We believe in the Baptist Distinctives:

B – Firstly, the Bible is the final authority for our Faith and Practice (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:16-21).

A – Secondly, the Church is an autonomous called out assembly of believers (Acts 15, 1 Peter 2:9, 1 Corinthians 2).

P – Thirdly, Believers are a priesthood allowing us access to God Himself without a person between us (1 Peter 2:5, Hebrews 4:15-16).

T – Fourthly, there are two ordinances God gave in the Bible to the Church: Baptism (Acts 8:37-38, Acts 2:38) and the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11).

I – Additionally, every believer has individual soul liberty to worship according to the dictates of his conscience and in step with his personal walk with God (Ephesians 1:13-14, Romans 14:12).

S – We believe the Church is made up of saved people who put their trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross and His Resurrection (Ephesians 4:12, Acts 2:41).

T – We believe God gave the Church two officers in the Bible: Pastor (Acts 20, 1 Peter 5) and Deacon (Acts 6:1-7, 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1).

S – Finally, the Bible teaches there is a separation of Church and State. The Church is the institution God gave to fulfill the Great Commission. God gave Government to punish unrighteousness and reward righteousness (Ephesians 5:23, 30, Romans 13:1, 4).
